We just marked the ten year anniversary of the original Xbox with a quick look at the effects that the console, and Halo: Combat Evolved, had on the videogame industry as a whole - far-reaching indeed!
To further celebrate the occasion, Microsoft will be giving away a free Xbox LIVE Avatar prop to members of the online service, while holding special online sales to thank you for your support all these years.
The Avatar prop seems to be a fireworks display of some kind, and will become available in all regions this coming Saturday - add it to your download queue over here.
The good Major Nelson has also uploaded the original sound used to transition from one original Xbox dashboard to another - listen to that over here.
And lastly, you can take a quick trip down memory lane to remember ten years of Xbox with a great photo gallery with images of the original Xbox launch event all those years ago - see all of that here.
