A welcome piece of news has appeared on Mother Internet today to reveal that the much-rumoured collection of Jak & Daxter games is indeed in the works, and according to a Sony representative, we’ll be getting official news on the matter soon.
The news arrives on the back of an age classification at German ratings website USK, which lists the ‘Jak & Daxter Trilogy Edition’ for PlayStation 3. The plot thickened when a Sony representative Sony told Game Informer:
“We can confirm the Jak and Daxter Collection is coming and will have more news to share shortly.”
While reports flying about the place are talking about a high definition remastered version of the first three games in Naughty Dog’s excellent series of character-based action games, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement to find out what kind of treatment the franchise will enjoy in its collected state.

Cool, another Sony Series of games i need to get, that is made alot easier for me now. Can't wait for more Info on this.
These collections are awesome ways to catch up on classic game series, agreed.
They should include Jak X in the collection too. That game was pure racing bliss! Loved it! What other extras? Maybe a trailer on the disc for Jak 4?
That's a great idea - Jak 4 made for PS3 would be amazing!
I wonder if Naughty Dog would be want to take a small break from Uncharted for a couple years to work on another Jak & Daxter, or Sony would need to find another studio to do it.
Iirc ND said that they are done with J&D permanently and would rather focus on a new IP which at the time was Uncharted. (Not exactly sure but the other Jak and Daxter games after the first 3 were made by other studios and not Naughty Dog themselves) I think once they are done with Uncharted they'll create a new IP again.
Jak and Daxter The Lost Frontier is the only game in the series NOT made by Naughty Dog. The game sucks and many fans don't even think of it as part of the Jak and Daxter series, I know I don't. I still got my PS2 copy lying around, never got too far with it.
If Sony thinks there is a market for a new Sly game (which there is) I'm sure they'll ask Naughty Dog to consider making another Jak game.
Another thing: the announcement seems legit. What happened after the Sly collection? Sly 4 was announced and is on its way! Is it terribly naive to assume that the same could happen with Jak? Maybe, but one can dream!
With Ratchet and Clank taking the route it has (with all 4 One) I think there is a gap in the market for the old-school platformer games.
i always loved this game, was my first platformer on PS2 :)
