Warner Bros. Interactive and Monolith have jointly announced a formal release date for the pair’s upcoming downloadable team-based first-person person shooter, Gotham City Impostors!
Set in the rich Batman universe, Gotham City Impostors sees two opposing factions facing off against one another in the streets of the metropolis, each inspired by the city’s most well-known Hero and Villain duo, The Batman and The Joker.
Featuring six versus six team-based gameplay, you’ll choose to play on either team Bats or team Jokerz and customise your character according to each group’s unique style, but the most awesome thing about Gotham City Impostors is the chance to use a huge variety of different gadgets and weapons to make combat much more freeform, allowing you to play the way you want.
You can find out a lot more about Gotham City Impostors with Lisa’s excellent hands-on preview of the game over here, as well as El33tonline’s previous coverage.
Expect Gotham City Impostors to release on Xbox 360 over Xbox LIVE Marketplace, PlayStation 3 over the PlayStation Store, as well as on the PC, on January 10th 2012!
In addition, if you want an early look at Gotham City Impostors, you can take part in the online beta test which is expected to go live in December - find out how to join in on that over here.
