Fans of epic first-person shooters, feature-rich basketball games and/or fiendishly difficult (and rewarding) action RPGs, this week is for you - here are the new games you can expect to be available (and become available today) at a retailer near you:
RAGE is id Software’s latest first-person shooter extravaganza, featuring visual splendour the likes of which you’ve never seen before and an enormous wasteland to explore, not to mention dozens of side-missions and hundreds of challenging battles with incredible enemies.
RAGE also features a lite RPG system, weapon crafting options and the chance to zip around the wasteland in a buggy while fighting off bandits trying to take you down - hectic stuff in promise and practice!
Here’s a launch trailer for RAGE to get that Hype O’ Meter revving:

The follow up to From Software’s masterful Demon’s Souls is finally here, ready to test your will, skill and patience to the limit!
You could describe Dark Souls as a simple action RPG set in an open, fantasy world, filled with monsters and outrageous creatures waiting to be slain by the weapon of your choice… but this would be selling the game far, far short.
In Dark Souls, every enemy encounter is a challenge, every challenge is a test, and every test is your chance to best the game and emerge triumphant… or not, but then you just try again.
Watch this launch trailer for Dark Souls to find out a bit more about what to expect from the epic journey offered in the game:

Comments:
My day 1 edition of Dark Souls arrived today. I'm not going to be able to play it for a bit, though, want to finish some other things first.
I saw Tom is playing it already, is it as good as the first reviews say?
I'll buy Rage when it's cheap, sorry Id, but there are way too many other shooters around at the moment.
Cannot wait to play RAGE!! Ever since I saw a gameplay demo at Gamescom 2010 I have been well and truly hoooked.
Cant wait for both of these titles!! My wallet isn't so excited though... Now its a choice between which one to buy 1ste!!
Picking up my copy of Dark Souls after work, truly excited about it! It is going to be a late painful night...
Dang, why do gamers put themselves through such torture? ;)
