Rayman Origins Hands-on Preview (PS3)
I got some great four-player gaming in with Rayman Origins this weekend at rAge. The guys I played with were complete strangers and highly varied in skill levels as well as age, but it was a really fun experience. That’s because Rayman Origins is a game that is pure quality in graphics, design and style.
It’s the New Super Mario Bros Wii of this year - the best option for a four-player local-multiplayer gaming session for friends or family looking for more than just a party game. Not that I have anything against party games.

Comments:
I can't wait for this game to come out. I love my hardcore games like Halo, Space Marine, Gears of war etc. but I'm still a big fan of my platform games and mini games. Raving Rabbits and any other similar game I'll play. It brings the gaming kid out of me.
from the look of the picture im fALLING INLOVE ALREADY hahaha
You did read the full preview, and not just this post, yes?
Peter talks about much more exciting Rayman Origins stuff:

This actually looks really good. I've never played a Rayman game before, so the license doesn't have any pull on me, but the idea of a 4 player, charming HD platformer sounds like an enormous amount of fun. I'm pleased it is coming to all the major consoles so Xbox owners like myself can pick it up, rather than assuming that the only people who would want to play something like this are Wii owners.
PS I did read the full preview, this is just where the comments are showing.
I agree Graeme, this kind of game is a huge hole in the 360's lineup so it's very welcome there. I wonder if the audience will take to it though - I hope so. Rayman Origins is a little more funky than Mario with it's odd humour and silhouette art style so it's more likely to be ok with people used to FPS and action games.
This game is going to be really fun and will be a good seller. Just think this title started off as a Download Title on PSN and XBLA. but decided to make it a Full retail elease as the game started growing. I'm a big fan of Platform gaming. and with coop it is a bonus.
Can't wait to play this :) Four player platforming fun!
Fun? Definitely. A good seller? I'm not so sure. I really hope it does well, as I'd love to see more of this sort of game, but I almost think it would find a better audience as an XBLA/PSN game. A slightly lower price point would also help it to avoid having to go head to head with big name FPS franchises.
Fingers crossed that it proves me wrong, though.
Well we will just have to wait and see what happens. i'll be playing it forsure.
