Crysis now available on PSN and Xbox LIVE, launch trailer included

It’s been a very quick cycle of ‘announce and release’ for Crysis on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and after only being revealed in early September, Crytek’s previously PC-exclusive first-person shooter is now available for consoles.

On Xbox 360, Crysis weighs in at 4.09 GB and costs 1600 MS Points, but on PS3 (the US PlayStation Store, at least), you’ll need to set aside 2.96 GB and $19.99 to purchase and download the game.

We’re still waiting on the European PlayStation Store content update, but you can grab Crysis now on both the US and European versions of Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and the US PlayStation Network.

Check out the recently released launch trailer for Crysis, as well as a gameplay clip from the game, below:

I wonder why the Xbox version if a over a full gigabyte larger than the PS3 one?

I think its because the PS3 downloads and then installs. (I might be wrong), must say it is looking good. i might give it a try when i have 1600points to spend.

I'm thinking that it's a regional thing (extra language stuff) - the numbers I was looking at are for the UK version of Crysis on Xbox 360 (4.09 GB) and the US version on PS3 (2.96 GB).

When the EU PS Store publish goes live, we can find out if this is the case, or the PS3 download is simply smaller.
