Anyone looking for one final experience points push in Call of Duty: Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2 before the arrival of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will need to be online at the end of the week, as Activision and Treyarch will be holding another Double XP Weekend!
The Double XP Weekend for Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will begin on October 28th (Friday) at 10am PST, and last until November 1st (Tuesday) at 10am PST.
This will help those of you looking for another Prestige (or your first Prestige) to reach that goal, but Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has revealed a perk (excuse the play on words) of reaching Prestige in not only Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2, World at War and the original Modern Warfare as well.
You see, every time you Prestige (and every Prestige level attained in those previous Call of Duty games) will earn you a Prestige Token, which can be spent at the Prestige Shop in Modern Warfare 3 and used to buy additional rewards, classes, pieces of gear and more.
Bowling explains the whole system in a short and information-rich Prestige Shop trailer below, so let’s turn it over to him:

Comments:
I like the idea of the shop. But its strange they launching this 2x XP event on the launch weekend of Battlefield 3....clever move or Bad move??? only time will tell. i might give the MP a try, but I think I'll fit better with Battlefield.......
Pretty caniving on their part. Either way anybody who`s buying BF3 will be playing BF3. No amount of XP multiplier will change that
Anything Activision can do to divert attention away from Battlefield 3 would be a good move for them - using older games to do it is even better so attention isn't taken away from Modern Warfare 3, and in fact supports Modern Warfare 3 excitement with the Prestige Shop.
Overall, I'd say good move.
Sniff sniff...i smell a COD MW fan.......this is Battlefield country.....be careful what you say around us Wired BF3 gamers waiting for the release of the year........
Who, me? Ooh, err... uh, whatever makes you think that...
In truth, I'm looking forward to both games in equal measure... maybe one more so than the other at this moment, but we'll keep that secret. ;)
to be honest i also like both games, MW has an awesome story line but BF has a top notch MP that cant be touched. So i agree with Oliver i am looking forward to both games, but im swinging allot more towards BF3
I agree, both games are going to be good. but my scale is tipping towards BF3 as its just going to be awesome. the coop, MP and SP is going to be so full of action..... i think I'm going to get shellshock for playing the game too much.....
