The writing has been on the wall for some time now, but Konami has only recently confirmed that the release of Silent Hill: Downpour has been moved into 2012.
In a confirmation to consumer site Beefjack, Konami revealed that Downpour would only see the light of day in the second quarter of 2012, well past its originally intended release date of November.
Despite being spotted at a number of consumer events, most recently Tokyo Game Show and the Eurogamer Expo, there’s not been a lot of awareness built up around Silent Hill: Downpour, and for a game originally due for release in under a month’s time, that’s a sure sign of a delay.
We’re hoping Konami and developer Vatra have been able to get fan feedback from people who have played Downpour at these events and fold these opinions back into the game - we want the very best Silent Hill game we can get, after all, so a delay might be just the thing to help the publisher/developer pair release a quality title.

I just hope its better than the previous installments, the only silent hill i could ever get into was the very first one, that one freaked the crap out of me, all the others just seemed repetative.

The games always look good but I'm just too scared to play any of them.
This one looks really good. I actually welcome the delay so it gives me time to play the others and get the HD trilogy pack. This will also give them more time to improve on the game and the scaryness. Can't wait for the second movie to come out.
I've just installed Homecoming onto my PC lastnite..but was to scared to play in the dark Blushes (Still recovering from F.3.A.R)

Games like these i always play with headphones and in the dark. then sometimes my wife comes in and wants to tell me something then touches my shoulder to get my attention and then i just scream like a girl and fall to the floor.... ok maybe i shouldn't have shared that.....
Haha, it happens to the best of us - that's what gaming is all about. If a game can achieve that level of immersion then you know it's a good game!
Will have to see what SH: Homecoming does to me. so will find out tonight when i give it a try.
back in the PS1 days me and my brother was playing Resident evil 2, in a narow pasage hands burst through the windows and there my brother goes fell backwards over the table hahahaha!
