We previously caught a hint of a game by the name of ‘Max Anarchy’ when Platinum Games’ Atsushi Inaba mentioned the title in an interview with Japanese games magazine Famitsu, but now after a quick name-change and a proper release window reveal, SEGA and Platinum Games have today officially taken the wraps off of the pair’s next collaboration, Anarchy Reigns, “a multiplayer brawler set in a world where anarchy is King.”
Releasing on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this year (‘Autumn’), Anarchy Reigns will feature all of the crazy creativity and “technical excellence” you’ve come to expect from Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Vanquish), but this time the team is challenging itself to push the boundaries of conventional fighting and brawling games.
How does it plan on doing this in such a crowded, competitive market?
In Anarchy Reigns, you’ll be able to go online with and against multiple other players and “get involved in heavy-hitting action simultaneously,” while the game will provide a range of different multiplayer modes including Tag Team battles and Battle Royal.
Senior Vice President of Marketing of SEGA West, Gary Knight, had this to say about the game:
“SEGA are delighted to continue our collaboration with Platinum Games, one of the most creative and critically acclaimed developers in the world. Anarchy Reigns is set to offer gamers a fresh multiplayer experience with the quality and innovation PlatinumGames are renowned for.”
If Bayonetta and Vanquish are anything to go by, I personally can’t wait!
