Well what do you know?! LittleBigPlanet 2 was able to slay the mighty beast, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and reign supreme over all other games in Chart Track’s UK Software sales listing for this week!
Will LittleBigPlanet 2’s control over the chart continue into next week? Media Molecule will certainly hope so! Let’s see if the ‘home advantage’ works in the developer’s favour…
Because LittleBigPlanet 2 is a new release this week, it pushes Call of Duty: Black Ops (sales down 15%) down one place to No. 2, while chart hero Just Dance 2 (or is that the chart hero’s younger sibling?) remains at No. 3 (with sales down by 19%), decidedly unmoved by the activity above it.
Elsewhere on the chart, FIFA 11 (sales down 25%) has to make its way down to No. 4 from No. 2 last week, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (sales up 22%) actually climbs two places to No. 5, Wii Fit Plus (sales down 28%) drops two places to No. 6, and thanks to the release of the PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect 2 (sales up 462%), this game hurdles its way back into the coveted Top Ten at No. 7.
Kinect Sports (sales down 27%) tumbles down to No. 8 this week from No. 5, Gran Turismo 5 (sales down 30%) only has to step down one place to No. 9, and Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (sales down 35%)races the ‘Wrong Way’ down to No. 10 from No. 6 during the previous week.
