NPD Report: Top ten best-selling games for 2010 in the US revealed

Now that 2010 has been capped with the release of December NPD sales data, and following difficult calculations like addition, subtraction, division and multiplication, and the storing of this data in a time machine for future calculations, we can have a look at the top-selling games of 2010.

CoD: Black Ops VS Halo: Reach - Going in for the Kill

If you follow these numbers on a monthly basis, then there won’t be any surprises… save for one. Possibly. Have a look at the top-ten best-selling games of 2010 in the US below:

  • 1.) Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision Blizzard) - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, DS – (over than 12 million units sold)
  • 2.) Madden NFL 11 (Electronic Arts) - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP
  • 3.) Halo: Reach (Microsoft) - Xbox 360
  • 4.) New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo) - Wii
  • 5.) Red Dead Redemption (Take-Two Interactive) - Xbox 360, PS3
  • 6.) Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo) - Wii
  • 7.) Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft) - Wii
  • 8.) Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision Blizzard) - Xbox 360, PS3, PC
  • 9.) Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft) - Xbox 360, PS3
  • 10.) NBA 2K11 (Take-Two Interactive) - Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii, PC

Any surprises? Didn’t think so. Except Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but one can at least understand why it’s there at No. 8

Yip, that's a pretty solid Top 10 - I wonder if Call of Duty: Black Ops will be in 2011's list.
