Nominees for 2011 Writers Guild Awards announced, God of War and Star Wars get the nod

Writer's Guild of America Logo The nominations for this year’s Writers Guild Awards have been announced by the Writers Guild of America, with God of War III, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, two Ubisoft titles, an Activision game and a title from Bethesda Softworks all becoming finalists for what is becoming an impressive award, and which aims to recognise the best story and dialogue writing in 2010.

Here’s the full nominations list:

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft)

The 2011 Writers Guild Awards will take place on February 5th this year at two separate locations, namely the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel-Grand Ballroom in Los Angeles and the AXA Equitable Center in New York City.

No RDR? What a snub.

Both Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption (and others, I imagine) aren't eligible for these awards due to a few rules, like writers have to be members of the WGA.

Kind of sucky, but them's the rules.
