Shush. It was better than 2K’s headline, at least:
“2K Sports Serves Up Another Winner With Top Spin 4”
Really, 2K? Really? Anyways, let’s get on with it:
2K Sports has officially announced today that the company’s next tennis simulation game, Top Spin 4, is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii in 2011.
If that news wasn’t exciting enough for Top Spin fans, hold onto your socks lest they spontaneously fly off – closer to the release of Top Spin 4, 2K “will inform gamers about an exciting pre-order incentive; an exclusive vintage Andre Agassi playable character.”
Woosh! My socks are outta here!
Top Spin 4 is currently in development at 2K Czech (the studio that brought you Mafia II), and the game is said to bring “the competitive action of tennis to life like never before,” thanks to redesigned controls, Signature Style animations, enhanced TV-style presentation elements, and an incredibly deep player roster featuring top tennis stars and legendary pros.
“[J]aw-dropping player models” are also set to make an appearance.
“To commemorate the fourth version in the Top Spin series,” reads the press release, “2K Sports is offering an exclusive vintage Andre Agassi playable character with pre-orders, details of which will be announced at a later date.”
Whoosh! There goes another pair!
President of product development for 2K Sports (and Peter Moore’s arch nemesis), Greg Thomas spoke about the goals of Top Spin 4:
“Top Spin 4 is shaping up to be the most realistic and exhilarating tennis game in the Top Spin franchise. For this iteration, the development team is focused on delivering a bold new take on the sport of tennis by allowing gamers to experience first-hand an uncanny level of realism in the player and stadium models, authentic audio captured directly from real tennis matches, and all-new innovative controls to dominate the competition.”
Look forward to it! My socks are definitely keen to try it out.
