We’ve finally got a release date for the second piece of Alan Wake downloadable content (DLC), and it’s coming sooner than you (READ: I) would think, at a price lower than you (READ: I) would have expected.
Entitled ‘The Writer,’ this new DLC will release on October 12th on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and will be yours for a mere 560 MS Points.
From the looks of the trailer (which you can find below), the new chapter is even more fantastic and surreal than any situations you may have found yourself in during the original game, with what looks to be an all new gameplay mechanic included.
Unfortunately though, this is to be the last set of DLC for Alan Wake, and will tie up the current story arc for the game. Will Alan Wake 2 (representing Season 2 of the ‘franchise’) ever see a release? We certainly hope so.
The trailer sets up the intensity and intrigue of ‘The Writer’ excellently well, so be sure to watch that, and read through El33tonline’s review of Alan Wake to see what we thought of the game:

Comments:
if it's cheap, it's probably really short, logic tells me...
The last episode was around one hour/an hour and a half, which was a typical chapter length in Alan Wake, so this second chapter will probably be the same.
