Capcom has announced that its cutesy Monster Hunter spin-off title, Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Ailu Village, has shipped over 500 000 copies in Japan.
According to the publisher, Monster Hunter Diary, known as MonHun Nikki: Poka Poka Airu Mura in Japan, has been a “huge success for Capcom in Japan” and “research has shown that roughly 50% of the player base for the game is female” which is an “unprecedented high percentage for a Capcom game.”
If you follow the Japanese sales charts these impressive sales figures will come as no surprise because the PSP title debuted at the top of the software chart with a whopping 256 000 copies.
There are no plans for a Western release yet, but as usual Capcom are open to suggestions.

You go Poka Poka!
That could be a new dance move, the Poka Poka. Like the Macarena, only way, way cooler!
Don't encourage them! Do you really want everybody you know to turn into mindless, dancing 'Poka Poka zombies.'
I think not.
Or maybe that's the premise for a new game. Hmm...
