Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light arriving on PSN and PC next week

While we recently learnt when Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light would become available on the PlayStation Network, the date that Ms. Croft’s latest adventure would arrive on the PC still remained unclear.

Well not anymore because Crystal Dynamics have solved the mystery by revealing that the game will be available on the PC via the Steam Network on the 28th of September for $14.99…the same day as it lands on the PlayStation Network following its period of exclusivity on the Xbox 360.

But that’s not all, on that day you’ll also be able to download a title update that adds online co-operative functionality so you’ll be able to team up with a friend online!

And from October to December you’ll be able to enjoy the Downloadable Lara Croft campaign. This will include five packs which will be available across all formats, the first three being expansion packs featuring a “combination of all new puzzle, exploration and combat experiences in the game and new areas to explore.” The next two packs are playable character packs, “offering gamers the chance to experience the entire adventure without Lara Croft and Totec and instead with some other well-known videogame characters.”

Read El33tonline’s review of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, a downloadable action title played from a top-down perspective, to see why the team thought that it’s a really good game.

“We can’t wait for PlayStation and PC gamers to get their hands on Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light,” said Darrell Gallagher, General Manager of Crystal Dynamics. “We’re committed to delivering the very best gameplay experience possible and the fact that this is the highest rated Lara Croft game since the original Tomb Raider was released back in 1996 is a testament to this. I would encourage everyone to try the free trial.”
