Nintendo and Game Freak’s Pokemon Black and Pokemon White recently released in Japan – on September 18th to be exact - and as far as Pokemon fans are concerned, this particular dual-release of the stratospherically successful series of games looks to be the best one yet, with all new Pokemon, a new visual style, new connectivity options, a new battle system… just a whole bunch of ‘new’ added to the Pokemon formula we know and love.
Pre-orders for the game in Japan were recently recorded at over 1 million units. If you aren’t aware, this number is exceedingly insane.
Do you want to read another insane number? How about the number of units that Pokemon Black and White managed to sell during its first two days of availability in Japan?
2.63 million is the number. In Japan alone. In two days.
It’s like staring slap-bang into the face of a monstrous Cthulhu! I think I’ve quite literally become a stark raving lunatic after reading and comprehending those numbers!
In the West, we’ll have to wait until next year to get our Pokemon Black and White on, but one thing’s for sure – this week’s Japanese Software Sales Chart is going to be particularly interesting!

Looks like the fad is over.
Yeah, all you PokeFans should start looking for a different game. Pokemon has clearly run its course.
Might I suggest Yu-Gi-Oh? There's so much more strategy there than in this PokeKid's game!
Pokemon, it's the way of the future....the way of the future.
