It’s a foregone conclusion that fans of Lara Croft and her underground hijinks will be looking forward to the release of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light on August 18th, exclusive to the Xbox 360’s Xbox LIVE Arcade for four weeks, but new information has emerged to get those fans even more pumped.
Not only has there been recent mention of release dates for the PS3 and PC versions of the intense isometric action game, but news of forthcoming downloadable content has also come to light.
On September 28th and the 29th, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will release on PS3 via the PlayStation Network, with the PC version of the game releasing via Steam over the same time period – the price is set at $14.99.
On the same day the game releases on PSN, a free update will become available for the Xbox 360 version, which will add two-player online cooperative play, full leaderboard support and voice chat functionality as well.
Then, from October to December this year, five content packs will be released for Guardian of Light. The first three packs will contain new puzzle, exploration and combat gameplay scenarios, as well as new areas to explore. The last two content packs will contain new playable characters, said to feature other “well-known videogame characters.”
Exciting times for Lara Croft fans, to be sure!
