The European versions of Gran Turismo 5’s special editions have today been unveiled, and come release date, super eager racing fans will be able to pick up either the Signature Edition or the Collector’s Edition of the game.
According to a post on the European PlayStation Blog, the Signature Edition of Gran Turismo 5 has an “artfully sculpted exterior, glossy black finish,” as well as “meticulously designed premium content,” which apparently exemplifies everything that Gran Turismo stands for - “beauty and precision.”
The very limited Signature Edition will cost you €179.99, and contains the following items:
- Metal sculpted box finished in SLS AMG Obsidian Black
- Exclusive GT branded SLS AMG 1:43 model car
- GT leather wallet containing Signature Edition competition entry card
- Branded USB key with Polyphony/Mercedes-Benz trailer
- GT branded metal key fob
- Signature Edition coffee table book featuring the beautiful cars and locations of Gran Turismo 5
- 200 page Apex drivers magazine with hints on driving technique, car tuning, future technologies and more
- Five ‘ChromeLine’ Collector’s Edition cars plus
- Six ‘Stealth’ vehicles
- Exclusive dynamic PS3 theme
In addition, if you decide to purchase Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition you’ll be able to enter a competition to win a real life Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG supercar:
The competition combines “in-game and real world driving challenges,” requiring participants to meet challenges in Gran Turismo 5 as well as at the AMG Signature Edition driving school. The contest will be open to 18 year olds with a full driving license, and in the following territories:
UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Greece, Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Keep your eyes on www.gran-turismo.com in the future for further details.
If Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition isn’t quite your style (or in your price range), you can always look out for the Collector’s Edition, which is also suitably spiffy. This version of Grant Turismo 5 will go for €79.99, and contains a special #5 slip case, as well as the following items:
- 200 page Apex drivers magazine with hints on driving technique, car tuning, future technologies and more
- Five ‘ChromeLine’ Collector’s Edition cars plus
- Six ‘Stealth’ vehicles
- Exclusive dynamic PS3 theme
- Five collectible artcards featuring handpicked rendered images
If all of that isn’t to taste (or to budget), you can also pre-order Gran Turismo 5 to get the six special ‘Stealth’ vehicles, all of which feature “performance and livery enhancements to give you that little extra edge in-game.”
Here they are:
A lot of content and features to think over, for sure, so if you’d like a truly special edition of Gran Turismo 5 when it releases later this year, you might want to start saving!
