Hidden in amongst the financial mumbo jumbo that comprised EA’s recent quarterly financial results report, the company mentioned the curious existence of a game by the name of Need For Speed: SHIFT 2.
This would then be the sequel to 2009’s quite excellent Need For Speed game, which combined both an arcade and realistic approach to racing – and quite successfully, I might add.
Need For Speed: SHIFT 2 would then join Criterion’s upcoming Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (which releases in November) and the just-released Need For Speed: World, making for quite a number of close consecutive entries in the long-running franchise – SHIFT 2 is dated for the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year, which means anytime during January to March 2011.
From this very same quarterly financial report, we found out that Crysis 2 has been delayed into 2011, which is sad news indeed.
