By now, most fans of the fighting game genre are able to admit that Capcom’s Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV titles have single-handedly (or… dual-handedly?) injected a huge amount of new excitement into a category of videogames that has steadily become more and more niche and inaccessible over the years, despite Namco’s continued entries to the Tekken and Soul Calibur series.
Now, with Street Fighter X Tekken, Capcom is set to bring a whole new crossover audience into the world of fighting games, as characters from both the Street Fighter and Tekken franchises collide in one universe and do battle for supremacy.
While screenshots and information has already been released for Street Fighter X Tekken, only now do we get to see the first in-game footage from the game, as Ryu and Chun-Li from Street Fighter, as well as Kazuya and Nina from Tekken, feature in an incredible debut gameplay video:
