A new entry to the Operation Flashpoint series of realism-based military shooters has been revealed, this time subtitled ‘Red River.’
Currently in development at Codemasters, Operation Flashpoint: Red River is set for a release in 2011, and according to Official Xbox Magazine, the title is “tighter” and “more focused” than its predecessor, Dragon Rising.
After having a chance to get a look at the tite, OXM editor Jon Hicks told videogame consumer site CVG:
“Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising was tremendously ambitious, but struggled to deliver. So we were pleased to see that the sequel is a tighter, more focused game that’s nevertheless still striving for a more realistic recreation of warfare.”
You can expect to see the first preview of Operation Flashpoint: Red River in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine.
While it’s not clear which platforms Red River will become available for when it’s released, Dragon Rising launched on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, so we can at least expect the same of the follow-up.
