UK Software Charts: Toy Story 3 stays on top for week of August 14th

Toy Story 3 Logo (Small) Toy Story claimed a 3rd week at no 1 on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales chart this week, despite its sales dropping by 17% from last week. Three weeks at no 1 is a new record of success for a Disney published title. Meanwhile, Modern Warfare 2 is just one week away from overtaking Nintendo’s Brain Training and becoming the highest selling game ever in the UK, landing at 8 this week (down from 2 last week).

Also keeping a very healthy sales record is Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption, reclaiming the number 2 spot with sales down just 9%. Ubisoft’s Dance on Broadway and Just Dance stay steady at 3rd and 6th respectively. Warner Bros Interactive’s Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 climbs four spots to number 4.

Nintendo’s Art Academy for the DS jumps up the chart from 28th spot in its debut last week to 5th this week. Nintendo also score further success for both Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, steady at 7, and Super Mario Galaxy 2, steady at 9.

The only new entry in the top 10 is Madden NFL 11 from Electronic Arts, a slightly lower debut than NFL 10 last year which debuted at 8.

Falling out of the top 10 is Activision Blizzard’s Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, dropping from 4 to 12.
