During the recently concluded QuakeCon 2010 event, John Carmack revealed that not only would the company’s first-person shooter, RAGE, be heading to the iPhone with a diminutive, fully featured version of the game as a visual showcase, but another more substantial version of RAGE would release in time for the launch of the full, all-singing all-dancing console and PC version of the title.
We now know when RAGE will release on these platforms, and that DLC is definitely planned for the game.
id Software’s Tim Willits announced over the weekend of QuakeCon 2010 that RAGE would release on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 13th 2011 in the US, and September 15th in the UK and Europe. We should expect that second iPhone game around that time.
Additionally, Willits confirmed that DLC is indeed planned for RAGE, seeing as how the release of new content has been very successful for id’s partner Bethesda Softworks, with Fallout 3. Willits said of future plans:
“We haven’t finalised any DLC plans, but we know it’s important. It’s been important to Bethesda. We’ll do it, we just don’t know what we’ll do yet.”

september 2011? aw man, thats like more than a year away, not counting possible delays.
this is actually a very weird announcement as id Software has been a "when it's done" company as far as release dates are concerned...
