At the end of a seemingly innocent press release announcing that EA would be taking over publishing and service rights of Warhammer Online in Europe, there lay hidden some delectable information for fans of the publisher’s RPG, Dragon Age.
Concealed within a mound of legal jargon and ‘About’ information that no-one ever reads, was confirmation that Bioware is indeed working on Dragon Age 2, “the highly anticipated sequel to 2009’s ‘RPG of the Year’ Dragon Age: Origins.”
We all knew it was coming, of course. In EA’s previously detailed release schedules for its upcoming fiscal quarters, it was always plain to see a ‘Dragon Age Title,’ in the midst of a bunch of other games launching in the fourth quarter (January to March 2010).
Also, those of you who treated yourselves to the retail release of Dragon Age: Origins’ expansion, Awakening, would have received a card with a teaser pointing to a possible release date for further Dragon Age content, perhaps as soon as February 1st 2011.
The final confirmation that something in the world of Bioware would be happening soon (today in fact) came in the form of an official Twitter tweet from Bioware proper, saying:
“2morrow will be a great day for BioWare fans. Just sayin’”
A full reveal for Dragon Age 2, perhaps? Hopefully.
