Bioware has announced that brand new downloadable content for two of the celebrated developer’s latest games, Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins, is now available for you to purchase and download.

For players of Mass Effect 2, you’ll be interested to know about the new Aegis Pack which adds the M-29 Incisor sniper rifle (“a burst-fire weapon that excels in destroying enemy shields”), as well as the Kestrel armour to your in-game locker.

The Kestrel armour comes in the following pieces:

  • The Kestrel Helmet adds weapon damage, shield strength, and headshot damage.
  • The Kestrel Torso Sheath adds melee and weapon damage and shield strength.
  • Kestrel Arm Sheathing adds melee and weapon damage and shield strength.
  • Kestrel Shoulder Pieces adds shields and melee damage.
  • The Kestrel hip-mounted Power Pack ups shields and heavy weapon ammo capacity.

“The Aegis Pack — for those times when overkill doesn’t seem like enough.”

The Aegis Pack will run you 160 MS Points on Xbox 360, and 160 Bioware Points on PC.

Dragon Age: Origins players, on the other hand, will want to know about downloadable content called Leliana’s Song, which includes a new story-based quest and allows players to take on the role of the young bard Leliana, who currently finds herself mixed up in a deal of bother, after becoming involved in a criminal ring that apparently deals in political secrets.

The DLC will explore Leliana’s past and explain why she joined the Chantry. In addition, the adventure will be fully voiced, and on completion of the DLC, you’ll be able to unlock a unique reward which will transfer into your Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening game.

Leliana’s Song is priced at 560 MS Points on Xbox 360, 560 Bioware Points on PC, and $6.99 on PlayStation 3.

Go treat yourself, Bioware fans!
