According to social media message postings by Bethesda Softworks’ community manager Nick Breckon, some big names are going to be attending QuakeCon in Dallas, Texas in two weeks time – names that may just be ready to make a big announcement.
Now confirming their presence, Breckon has revealed that ex-Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella will make an appearance at this year’s show, possibly to talk about their future works at newly formed Respawn Entertainment.
This will be the first time that the pair appear publicly to speak on anything related to anything, following their forced removal from Infinity Ward at the beginning of March and the subsequent legal wrangling with Activision.
Their attendance will be in addition to id Software’s John Carmack and Portalarium’s Richard Garriott (who will apparently jointly talk on the subject of ‘Space’), while fellow Texan Harvey Smith (Deus Ex 1 and 2) will also be in there to do a talk. Bethesda’s Todd Howard and Emil Pagliarulo are signed up to speak at the show, too.
Here’s the original cryptic message from Nick Breckon that tipped people off that Vince Zampella would be coming to QuakecCon. See if you can decipher it:
“Very bIg Names Coming to this yEar’s show. Zeroing in on A Momentous, Preposterous, stELLAr QuakeCon announcement.”
Did you get it?
Look forward to major events happening at QuakeCon this year, taking place from August 12th to August 15th this year.
