Capcom and Namco surprised the gaming world over the weekend by announcing two new fighting games that are set to feature character crossovers from each of the company’s hallowed franchises.
Street Fighter characters fighting against Tekken characters? Madness! But it’s true.
Street Fighter X Tekken is currently in development at Capcom and will use the same presentation style as Street Fighter IV (3D models on a 2D plane), while Tekken X Street Fighter is in the works at Namco and will use the traditional graphical presentation of a Tekken game (fully 3D).
To help us imagine (and accept) these crossover games, a bunch of new screenshots has been released for Street Fighter X Tekken, showing Street Figher’s Ryu getting punched up by Tekken’s Kazuya and Nina:
