The last game that emerged from the studios of Irrational Games (known then as 2K Boston) was the original Bioshock, which released half-way through 2007.
A masterpiece of a first-person action adventure game, Bioshock got everybody in the game industry talking, and most likely affected the design of all similar games going forward as developers scrambled to match the excellent experience on offer.
Now, half-way through 2010 and three years later, we still don’t have a clue as to what Irrational is currently working on. This could very well all change come August 11th this year.
Irrational has sent out an invitation to select press outlets, asking recipients to “save the date” of August 11th for an event being held in New York City. What’s the event all about? The best guess would be a reveal of the studio’s next game.
What else could it be?
We’ll be sure to find out at least a little bit more closer to the date, and then hopefully get a good ‘ole deluge of information and media come August 11th.
