Earlier this week, rumours began swirling regarding the existence of the next full adventures of everyone’s favourite tomb raiding heroine, Lara Croft, with mixed reports coming in stating that the game is titled ‘Downfall,’ and is slated for a ‘Christmas 2011’ release.
It seems these reports are false.
Dedicated Tomb Raider fan site, Tomb Raider Chronicles, insists that Downfall is a non-Tomb Raider intellectual property created by developer Crystal Dynamics that never made it into development.
While we know Crystal Dynamics is working on the downloadable title, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, as well as a second game that is a continuation of the Tomb Raider franchise, ‘Downfall’ doesn’t represent the continued adventures of Ms. Croft.
If you’d like to know more about the Crystal Dynamics game we do know about (i.e. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light), have a look through El33tonline’s previous coverage of the game.
