“In today’s war, there is a new enemy, new weaponry and a new warrior built to tackle the toughest missions and harshest terrain. He is the Tier 1 Operator, and [in October] 2010 Medal of Honor players will have a chance to step into the boots of this elite soldier.”
Have you heard of the MP7?
It’s apparently a “unique weapon utilised by Tier 1 Operators in the field,” and if you choose to pick up the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, you’ll not only get access to the MP7, but you’ll also get day-one access to the TOZ-194 and 870MC2 shotguns, circumventing the need to rank up in order to unlock them like ‘regular’ Medal of Honor players.
I have no idea what any of these numbers and letters mean, but there sure are a lot of them, and that must be good, right? Executive Producer of Medal of Honor Greg Goodrich assures us this is the case:
“Access to a weapon like the MP7 will allow players to experience a tool developed with the Special Operations Community in mind. With its light weight, high rate of fire and its ability to penetrate body armor, the MP7 handles like a pistol yet allows targets to be engaged like a rifle.”
That’s all I needed to hear.
While you decide whether or not ‘T50-8-40 air-to-ground missile throwing robots’ are worthy of a special purchase (which they certainly are, but won’t be available with this game), you can watch a new trailer for Medal of Honor announcing the Limited Edition version of the title:
Medal of Honor – Limited Edition Trailer
Medal of Honor, as well as the Limited Edition version of the game, releases on October 12th in North America, and October 15th in Europe and the UK.
