UK Software Charts: Red Dead Redemption makes it three in a row for week of June 5th

Red Dead Redemption Box ArtFor the third week in a row, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption has shot up the competition and placed itself neatly at No. 1 on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales Chart, despite a 22% drop in sales compared to the previous week.

Chart Track informs us that the total sales of Red Dead Redemption this week are more than the combined sales of the games at positions 2 to 7 on the chart, so it looks like the game still has some to enjoy its stay at the top of the ranking.

2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa (sales down 3%) moves up one position to No. 2 this week, ahead of the real life World Cup next week – barring any new releases, this is probably the only game that can take Red Dead Redemption’s crown in the foreseeable future, thanks to the hype surrounding the event.

UFC Undisputed 2010 (sales down 47%) swaps places with FIFA, moving down to No. 3 from No. 2 last week, as chart hero Just Dance (sales down 3%) is a non-mover at No. 4, as is Wii Fit Plus (sales up 2%) at No. 5.

Debut title The Sims 3: Ambitions appears at No. 6 during its first week on sale, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 stubbornly remains at No. 7. Wii Sports Resort climbs to No. 8 from No. 10 last week, Lost Planet 2 is another non-mover at No. 9, and Blur shifts into the coveted Top Ten, sitting at No. 10 from No. 14.
