Gameloft has revealed a release date for the high definition remake of Earthworm Jim, the classic mid-nineties platformer originally put together by industry veteran Dave Perry and his team at Shiny.
Entitled Earthworm Jim HD, this new title will hit Xbox LIVE Arcade on June 9th (next week), while a release date for the PlayStation Network is said to be forthcoming.
The Gameloft blog writes:
“The exact same groovy game we all loved in the 90’s but with full HD treatment, extra levels and… a multiplayer mode! And what can be better than multiple space-suited earthworms? Don’t strain yourself searching, the answer is: nothing!”
A multiplayer mode? Sure! As you can see in the XBLA trailer for Earthworm Jim below, the game now features a four-player cooperative multiplayer mode!
