UK Software Charts: LEGO Harry Potter dethrones Red Dead Redemption for week of June 26th

LEGO Harry Potter XBLM Box ArtThe king is dead. Long live… Harry Potter? Dang.

Yes, the rumours are true. After five straight weeks atop Chart Track’s UK Software Sales Chart, Red Dead Redemption has abdicated its kingly presence and made way for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1 – 4, as this newcomer to the charts claims the throne and now sits at No. 1.

With this scandalous turn of events, Red Dead Redemption (sales down 32%) has to be content with No. 2 this week, which causes Super Mario Galaxy 2 (sales down 42%) to slip down to No. 3 from No. 2, and 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa (sales down 36%) to step down to No. 4 from No. 3.

This week also sees a bunch of debut titles (other than that upstart LEGO Harry Potter) arrive on the UK chart, as Naughty Bear appears at No. 5 during its first week on sale, Demon’s Souls: Black Phantom Edition arrives at No. 6, and Transformers: War for Cybertron touches down at No. 8.

Meanwhile, Just Dance (sales down 17%) moves down to No. 7 from No. 4 last week, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 moves up to No. 9 from No. 11, and with all of the new titles setting up camp, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is forced down to No. 10 from No. 6 last week.
