The first major DLC for the massively multiplayer online first person shooter MAG will be available on the European PlayStation Store today for €7.99\£6.29 (440MB). Interdiction is already available on the US PlayStation Store for $9.99.

MAG Interdiction is a new game mode built for 128 players that sees two rival factions fighting to gain control of three different command posts. The teams will be able to use armoured convoys for every squad on the map and must capture and hold as many objectives as possible to increase their score to win. Each team must also decrease their opponents’ score across three new faction neutral maps: Iron Creek Quarry, Lake Bayano Spur and Sovot Motorway.

Interdiction will also include the Heavily Improved armour set, the most powerful protection in the game, as well as new in-game ribbons, medals and trophies. You can read the full list over at Sony’s PlayStation Blog here.

Just remember that next time you play MAG you’ll have to download a small Interdiction Activation Patch (4MB) to make your copy of MAG compatible with the Interdiction game mode.

You’ll also be able to score big this weekend thanks to the “Double XP” Promotion. Starting from Friday the 25th of June at 7:01 am GMT you’ll earn twice as much experience, whether you buy the Interdiction DLC or not. The promotion to earn addition XP will end on Sunday the 27th of June at 6:59am GMT.
