Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught Mode available on Xbox Live today [Update]

[Update]Unfortunately, it seems as though the Onslaught downloadable content for Bad Company 2 won’t be appearing on Xbox LIVE today, as previously announced, and has been delayed.

The official Battlefield blog now states that this new mode will become available for Xbox 360 owners of the game “in the very near future.”

PS3 users in North America, however, can have at it today, while users in Europe and the UK will get it tomorrow. [End of Update]

Just in case you needed any reminding, the new Onslaught mode for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is available on Xbox Live today for 800 MS Points. The new online multiplayer mode will land on the PlayStation Network tomorrow for £7.19 in the UK.

“Up to four players can team up and put their squad skills to the test across four enhanced multiplayer maps” in Onslaught mode, “fighting against enemy land, sea, and air forces such as the new Mark V SPECACT boat.” The four new maps, Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay, promise to deliver different gameplay experiences, all with new lighting and time of day.

Players will need to “work together to secure and hold a series of capture points in the quickest time possible” and can test their skills in four different levels of difficulty, including Hardcore. You’ll also be able to earn eight new Trophies/Achievements and compare stats on the Onslaught leaderboards.
