For the fifth week in a row, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption has landed at No. 1 on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales Chart, outselling other hit titles in the region including Super Mario Galaxy 2 and EA’s 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
This despite a 24% drop in overall sales for the Wild West open world shooter, helped along as sales of Super Mario Galaxy 2 (sitting at No. 2) fell by 29%, increasing the sales margin between the two titles by 4000 units compared to the week previous.
2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa (sales up 16%) is a non-mover at No. 3, as Just Dance shifts to No. 5 from No. 4 last week, effectively swapping places with Rooms: The Main Building.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (sales down 10%) manages to step up to No. 6 from No. 7, as a price-promoted Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (sales up 18%) moves up from No. 12 last week to No. 7.
Wii Fit Plus (sales down 26%) slips to No. 8 from No. 6, Blur (sales down 5%) finds its way back into the Top Ten at No. 9 (from No. 11 last week) and Wii Sports Resort (sales down 12%) is a non-mover at No. 10.
New releases for the week include International Cricket 2010 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, charting at No. 12 during its first week on sale, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP, which charts at No. 18.
