E3 2010: Metal Gear Solid: Rising screenshots show ‘cutting,’ but not much ‘taking’
Zan-Datsu, according to Hideo Kojima, means ‘to cut and to take,’ and in these screenshots for the developer’s next title, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, we can see the results of protagonist Raiden’s ‘cutting,’ as pillars, people, vans and cyborgs are shown lying in ruins, sliced clean in half.
There isn’t a whole lot of ‘taking’ in the screenshots, though, but we’re told that Raiden (who’s become a cyborg himself during events that take place between Metal Gear Solid 2 and 4) will require sustenance (i.e. health) from energy ‘taken’ from defeated enemies.
