Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) announced today that the first PlayStation 3 games to support stereoscopic 3D will be arriving on the PlayStation Network during June, while an initiative involving the company’s line of 3D Bravia TVs will net you these games for free, plus a demo for the 3D version of MotorStorm 2: Pacific Rift.
On June 10th, stereoscopic 3D versions of PAIN (Mr. Pain), WipEout HD and Stardust HD (Star Strike HD) will show up on the Japanese PlayStation Store. If you already own the games, you can update WipEout HD and Stardust HD to these new versions for free, while updating to the new version of PAIN will cost you ¥300.
Additionally, if you buy a Sony 3D Bravia TV in Japan starting June 6th, you’ll get a voucher to get all of the above games for free via the PlayStation Store, as well as a demo for the 3D version of MotorStorm 2: Pacific Rift.
Sony also has plans to bring 3D Blu-ray movie support to PlayStation 3 later this year, via a new firmware update.
Why am I telling you all of this if there’s a good chance you don’t live in Japan? Well, there’s also a good chance that these offers will be coming to a PlayStation Store near you, so look out for more news soon.

Comments:
I hope Sony doesn't use the PS3 to push their 3D TVs on us. I'm really not interested in 3D. I just got my HDTV a year ago and I don't want to wear glasses everytime I want to watch or play something.
I agree, wearing glasses is a bit off-putting. 3D movies are cool, but I'm always happy to take the spectacles off afterwards.
i am not so sure 3D is the next big thing in gaming... especially this generation. the immediate NBT is motion controls that everyone is playing catch-up to with Nintendo, and to make sure they dont have to play catch-up again, Sony will try and make 3D their NBT. lets hope real 3D becomes available without glasses before the next gen consoles come out.
