Team 17 Software has announced that Alien Breed: Impact will be coming to the PlayStation Network and Steam this summer.
Described as a “heavily expanded edition” of the Xbox Live Arcade title, Alien Breed: Evolution is, Alien Breed: Impact is a popular sci-fi arcade shooter that resurrects a classic franchise and includes new features arising from community suggestions.
The game is said to feature an “an epic story, swarms of highly intelligent alien enemies, high-impact weapons, highly detailed and rich environments; all implemented with superb technology, using Epic Software’s Unreal Engine 3.”
Impact will include expanded customisability, with players able to upgrade weapons with the cash they loot from corpses and lockers. The co-operative gameplay experience has also been enhanced as well as the Prologue campaign which will whisk players through an updated and expanded introduction to the Alien Breed World. It’s also promises to be tougher and require more individual exploration than Evolution.
Studio Head Martyn Brown commented, “We’re always very keen to hear what our communities are saying about our titles and greatly consider feedback. For Alien Breed: Impact, it was great that we went back to the design and improved the game in many areas, meaning a much tighter gameplay experience for all.”
