This past week in Japan saw the DS title Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP continue their streak of sales dominance, both sitting atop Media Create’s Software Sales Chart for the region, at No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, despite massive drops in sales from the week previous.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 sold 126 000 units this week, taking its total number of units sold in Japan up to just over 1 000 000, while MGS: Peace Walker sold 63 000 copies, pushing the life-to-date units sold in the country to 638 000.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a non-mover at No. 3 this week, even after experiencing a similarly tall sales falloff over the last week, but still managed to sell 19 000 copies.

Friend Collection for the DS is another stubborn title, still sitting at No. 4 on the chart after selling 16 000 units this past week, while new title Hakuouki: Yuugi Roku for the PSP debuts at No. 5 for its efforts – 15 000 units sold.

Mario Kart Wii slips down from No. 5 to No. 6 and sold 13 000 copies, Nier Replicant on the PS3 sold 13 000 copies and moves up to No. 7 from No. 10 last week, and Wii Fit Plus sold 12 000 netting it a place at No. 8 (down from No. 6).

Super Street Fighter 4 sold 12 000 units and charts at No. 9 (down from No. 7) and debut title 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa managed to sell 10 000 units to slip in at No. 10 during its first week on sale in Japan.
