During Ubisoft’s conference call announcing its full year financial results, the publisher revealed that the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will only see a release during the first quarter of next year, between January and March 2011.

Future Soldier was originally set for release later this year, but Ubisoft now cites a “very competitive market” as the reason for pulling out of launching during the busy last quarter of 2010, although those who’ve seen the game during recent press reveals say it’s looking ‘a little early,’ so giving the game a bit more time to simmer (and add that all-important ‘polish’) is probably a good thing.

In addition, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will enjoy a multiplayer beta test later this year for prospective players to get a taste of the game, although no further details were revealed. More will be forthcoming, the publisher says, during E3 in June.
