4A Games has been teasing the existence and upcoming reveal of additional content for its creepy, horrific post-apocalyptic first-person shooter, Metro 2033, and finally the development outfit has spilled some details on the official Facebook page for the game.
The upcoming downloadable content (DLC), called the ‘Ranger Pack,’ will add new weapons, Achievements and a range of new game rules in a gameplay option called ‘Ranger Mode,’ which is said to be “deadly.”
Standard Ranger Mode will reduce the amount of ammunition available in the game, while weapons and attacks cause more damage. This means that enemies are more powerful, but simultaneously, so are you.
Hardcore Ranger Mode, on the other hand, will remove your heads-up display (HUD) completely, which 4A claims will result in “the most immersive Metro 2033 experience yet.”
Also: the most terrifying.
The Heavy Automatic Shotgun and the Volt Driver are two of the weapons 4A has mentioned will be included in the Ranger Pack, while 250 more Gamerscore points will be available with the DLC.
The Metro 2033 Ranger Pack will become available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and Steam in the “very near future,” with additional details and price information to come in the next few days.
