Square Enix has announced that new downloadable content for their action RPG Nier will be available for the Xbox 360 today (for 560 MS Points) and for the PS3 tomorrow (for €6.99).
Titled ‘The World of Recycled Vessel,’ the new DLC will add new weapons, costumes, music and battle quest. A gate to a strange world is opened, mixing the past and present, and giving players the chance to engage in 15 “nightmarish” battles to unlock two sets of bonus costumes for Nier, Emil and Kaine, three powerful weapons, new music and a special quest that “challenges you to destroy your woolliest adversaries.”
Larry Sparks, Vice President Brands PAL Region of Square Enix Ltd. comments, “NIER offers action-filled gameplay and a memorably shocking storyline. We’re very pleased to be able to offer – The World of Recycled Vessel – content that rewards players with new battles and challenges to face, expanding the world of NIER and offering lots more surprises.”

Nier is set in a “crumbling world plagued by disease and dark, unrecognisable creatures.” Players step into the role of Nier as he embarks on a journey, aided by a mysterious book and powerful allies, to discover a cure for his daughter, who is infected with the Black Scrawl disease.
This action RPG is said to blend “traditional RPG gameplay mechanics with intense, bloody combat and powerful magic to create an action-packed single-player experience where players explore and discover a future lost to a shadowy past.”
