A demo for Disney Interactive Studio’s action racing game, Split/Second, will be arriving on the US PlayStation Store today.
The demo is set in the Airport location and the track features “some incredible moments that YOU can trigger – including a navigational radar dish that explodes off its base and a tram that slams into a parking structure creating some real shock waves on the track.”
To explain this concept of Power Plays a little further, after players build up their power meter through skilled driving techniques they can trigger Power Plays to take out opponents and alter the track.
The track from the demo also features other huge Power Plays that you can activate, for example “taking down the airport control tower to clear a path onto the runway which provides access to a huge remote-controlled jumbo jet you can use to take out your competitors.” There are three major route changers on the course so make sure you look around a little.
Disney is also on the lookout for the player who is fastest on the PS3 demo, take a photo of your times in the demo and post your score to the official Split/Second Facebook page to see how you’re running.
Split/Second is due for release on May 18th in North America and May 21st in Europe, on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Be sure to follow up on the game via El33tonline’s previous coverage for tons of screenshots, videos and extra information.
