The countdown to the release of the new Iron Man 2 movie in cinemas is ticking down quickly now and, not surprisingly, Sega looks set to ride the hype train to build anticipation for Iron Man 2: The Video Game.
The publisher has released a new trailer and a batch of new screenshots for the game, unexpectedly showing that the game is shaping up nicely as it tries to break free of the infamous movie tie-in curse.
Iron Man 2 features a unique storyline penned by popular comic book author Matt Fraction. The game will include elements from both the film and comic book, along with new destructible environments, epic enemies (including Crimson Dynamo, not found in the film), hand-to-hand combat (even Kung-Fu) and a redesigned control scheme.
Jon Favreau will again return to the director’s chair for the film while Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow as his secretary Pepper Potts. Other popular actors have been linked to the film including Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle and Scarlett Johansson. The film will hit the circuit across the UK on the 29th of April with North America following on the 7th of May.
Watch the new ‘Prologue’ trailer below, and get to know Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), James Rhodes (aka War Machine) and more of the cast from the film/game a little better. You can also browse over the new screenshots to help you gear up for Iron Man 2, which will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii and DS on the 4th of May.
