[Update] The demo for Split/Second is now available on Xbox LIVE. [End Update]
It appears as though the action racing game Split/Second will be getting an Xbox 360-exclusive demo a little later this week, giving us a taste of the ‘airport’ level from the game.
The news comes courtesy of Split/Second’s director, Nick Baynes, during an appearance on Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb’s Xbox podcast:
“There’s a demo exclusively out on Xbox, which is out this week I believe, so everyone will be able to play the airport track very, very soon on Xbox 360,” said Baynes.
The exact date of the demo’s release is currently unknown, but if it’s this week, and follows the usual release schedule, it should be out on either Wednesday or Thursday.
While you’re waiting on the demo, you can watch a fantastic new video detailing the development process for creating ‘Power Plays’ in Split/Second, which are basically ways for you to destroy your opponents and create shortcuts in the track by wreaking havoc in the environment. Have a look below:
