Yesterday brought news that two additional Infinity Ward employees had resigned from their positions at the Call of Duty developer, but today it’s being reported that another five studio workers have left the company.
First came the news that senior animator Bruce Ferriz left Infinity Ward, and is now working at game developer Big Button Entertainment, based in Santa Monica, California, as reported by IGN (and revealed by Ferriz himself).
Then, sources close to the Infinity Ward told videogame consumer site Kotaku that lead designers Steve Fukuda and Zied Rieke (both having worked at the company since its inception) have left the studio, while additional reports say that programmer Rayme Vinson and lead artist Chris Cherubini have resigned, too (Cherubini later confirmed his departure to Kotaku).
This news follows movements made by two Infinity Ward development leads last week, and directly after the announcement on Monday of a new development studio, Respawn Entertainment, created by Vince Zampella and Jason West, who were both forcibly removed from their previous studio, Infinity Ward, at the beginning of March.
It’s heavily rumoured that certain of these long-time Infinity Ward employees are slowly (and not so slowly) leaving the company in order to once again work with Zampella and West at Respawn Entertainment.
