Last week Nintendo revealed that Jam with the Band would be hitting shelves across Europe for the DS and DSi on the 21st of May. Today the publisher confirmed a few more details about the new DS title, including a partial tracklist.
In addition to jamming to a collection of 50 popular songs that will come pre-installed with the game, Jam with the Band will enable players to program their own versions of famous songs and share them with other players, much like Rhythm Paradise and Wii Music.
Simply use the game’s song editor using up to eight different parts on each track from a collection of over 50 instruments to program your own tracks. You can even create simple melodies by humming into the in-built microphone on the DS.
Players will also be able to download 50 songs via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and upload their own versions of songs, which other players can then download. A dedicated website will enable players to view new and popular tracks.
Features galore
Use the stylus to strum at a virtual guitar and test your vocal chords with the DS mic in the karaoke mode. You can even get a better insight into your best music genre after the game analyses your singing style.
Players will move from using one or four buttons, to eight and ten using the game’s difficulty mode. You will also be able to play with the stylus and touch screen in the music-making challenges. Even better news is that up to eight players can take a part and jam together with just one copy of the game!
You can even connect your DS or DSi to your Wii and send the sounds from the DS to the TV speakers. You can also download a free Jam with the Band Live Channel for the Wii.
