Bad Company 2 server issues update: EA servers hit hard, resetting tomorrow for maintenance

EA and developers DICE are both having a bit of a torrid time it seems, as not only is the newly released Battlefield: Bad Company 2 being taken to task by gamers for a host of problems related to online connectivity issues, but other games from EA are also experiencing connection troubles linked with the publisher’s online servers.

From a Twitter update on Bad Company 2’s official account:

“EA servers are currently down stopping login to a number of EA games. EA is investigating and will be back online as soon as possible.”

At the moment, things seem to have returned to normal, but EA will be resetting the servers tomorrow for what seems like much-needed maintenance. From another more recent tweet:

“EA Servers are back online now. However EA servers will be reset tomorrow morning at 8:00 GMT/9:00 CET/Midnight PST for maintenance.”

As for the patching process, a new update for Bad Company 2 has been sent to Sony of America for the PS3 version of the game, which is now subject to the approval process. When it’s approved, PS3 players will gain access to the in-game store and their VIP content.

The same process will be carried out through Sony Europe once everything has been smoothed out.

The PC and Xbox 360 versions of Bad Company 2 won’t be getting client updates in the very near future, but any immediate issues PC players are experiencing are being discussed in the forums, which you an visit over here.
